The Art room at LNL provides a large bright space, equipped with individual tables, a large sink and easels for both experienced Artists and beginners
The class provides participants the opportunity to follow through with experimentation and rediscovery of basic applications and some new techniques with contemporary painting.
Subjects addressed will include abstraction, landscape figuration and still life.
We will address composition, colour, tone and perspective as well ways of application with mediums and painting tools.
I hope to expand your understanding of painting in fast drying acrylics and further interests in images suitable to your interests.
Students should acquire beforehand:
Bring along any painting materials you have ( Experienced)
A visual diary ( optional )
2 water containers and old rags
An Acrylic Painting pad (large}
A painting pallet pad
A set of strong brushes (bristle )
A set of basic Chromacryl, or Reeves primary colors
Red,Blue, Yellow and Black and White
If possible protective clothing
All of the above are available from art shops or discount stores. Further options will be demonstrated and discussed on the first night.
Ms Holmes holds a BA Visual Arts, from the Canberra School of Art and the National Art School, Sydney. Cherylynn Holmes has a wide range of Art experience in many techniques of painting and drawing. She has worked in a variety of professional positions as an illustrator, textile designer, and stage artist for theatre and dance performance. Her major projects, however, have always been in painting and drawing. She has exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions and has a working studio at Gorman House Arts Centre. Cherylynn is currently a volunteer guide at the National Gallery of Australia. She has conducted recreational Acrylic Painting and Drawing classes for some years and likes to encourage her students to find an individual way to bring forward personality and signature styles.
