Gentle mindful hatha yoga to help reduce stress, promote equanimity and nourish mind body and spirit.
This class is designed to assist participants to move into stillness. Beginning with limbering and asana (poses), the class progresses into the subtler yogic practices of pranayama (breath work), yoga nidra (deep relaxation) and meditation.
A pain friendly and inclusive class with an emphasis on moving in a way that leads to steadiness and ease whilst soothing and settling the nervous system along the way.
There will be opportunities to deepen practices previously experienced and a continued focus on enhancing stability, balance, strength and flexibility. The emphasis is on function over form and on students’ personal experience of the practices. Students are encouraged to practice with mindful awareness and compassion for self.
